Housing Resource Service

The Housing Resource Service (HRS) is community-based and provides a “place” for collaborating and knowledge exchange of home maintenance, quality housing construction, and access to and the affordability of housing.  It is a collaborative approach to First Nations designed Housing Resources Service for the Secwépemc and Nlaka’pamux Nations and Upper Nicola Band.

Housing Resource Service

The HRS target area is within a 200 kilometers proximity of Kamloops and include Upper Nicola Band and any First Nations from the Nlaka’pamux or Secwépemc Nations.

Vision:

The HRS remains relevant and accessible to the Communities of the Nations. The Communities can access the suite of services as they determine to achieve their respective goals for providing safe, healthy, and affordable housing choices to their members.

Mission Statement:

Our 33 First Nations have the housing tools to achieve their housing goals.

Values:

Reliable Resource

Open and Transparent

Conducts Meaningful Engagement

Non-Competitor for Community Program Funding

Respect the Culture and Practices of Each Community

Housing Resources Service (HRS) was chosen to capture the provision of better practice housing “Resources” for First Nations, which includes a central repository/library of practical templates, policies, processes, and resource material; and the opportunity for information sharing and networking with other First Nation’s housing representatives.

The future resources could include property management services, tailored user-friendly software, centralized inspection services and other housing experts.
